WHAT:

Celebrating another year of excellence, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is marking its 24th anniversary of developing the minds of its students. The Anniversary Awards Dinner will honor those who are influential leaders and serve as role models to TMCF’s 47 member network of public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs).

TMCF is dedicated to producing leaders, so it is most fitting that the theme of the dinner is Developing Minds...Delivering Dreams. Changing the World…One Leader at a Time since 1987. TMCF is bringing together a room full of people who change lives and honors those who hold true the traditions upon which TMCF was founded.

This year’s honorees include:

  • FOUNDER’S AWARD: John Esposito, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bacardi USA, Inc.
  • COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD: Rollin L. Ford, Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
  • CORPORATE LEADERSHIP AWARD: Jesse L. Calloway, VP & General Manager, Tobacco Processing & Manufacturing, Philip Morris USA
  • EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARD: Dr. Thelma B. Thompson, President, University of Maryland Eastern Shore

To recognize the achievements of the country’s foremost visionaries who promote diversity, career development opportunities and political influence. These honorees increase opportunities for students and alumni of public HBCUs/PBIs.
