September 14th webinar will provide tips and resources to help military spouses successfully juggle work, family and education
BUFFALO, NY (September 07, 2011) – Bryant & Stratton College Online announced today that it will be hosting a free webinar for military spouses interested in learning tips and tools related to balancing work and family responsibilities while earning a degree.
The webinar, “Your Back to School Battleplan: How to Ace Your Classes and Fight Off Stress,” will take place on Wednesday, September 14, from noon to 1:00 p.m. EDT and will be led by Rebecca Keolanui and Allison Perkins. Rebecca Keolanui is a licensed marriage therapist and military and family life consultant at
“Military spouses already shoulder much of the burden of caring for the home and family during lengthy deployments. Add to that the hours many spouses spend working outside the home and the stress of schoolwork can be a tipping point in the family’s already delicate balance, “ said Keolanui. “However, with the right information, resources and support, military spouses can successfully juggle family, work and their education.”
Topics that will be discussed during the webinar include:
- Tackling the right course load – how to determine the number of classes you can take each semester without sacrificing straight A’s or harmony at home or work.
- The importance of organization when taking on a new responsibility, such as going back to school.
- The importance of self care and taking time to make sure you are physically, emotionally and spiritually sound.
- How to recognize the signs of stress.
“The push/pull between work, family and school is ever present for many adults, but it can be especially profound for military spouses,” said Scott Traylor, Associate Campus Director for Online Education at
The webinar is offered for free by Bryant & Stratton College Online and military spouses interested in attending are invited to register at http://online.bryantstratton.edu/webinar/.
